Calling Missoula’s aspiring young filmmakers! The Roxy Theater is offering four, one week summer camps through the Roxy Film Academy. The RFA provides immersive hands-on summer camps that engage students to transform the content of their lives into creative visual stories using the tools and techniques of professional filmmakers. Each camp runs Monday-Friday, 9 am-4 pm and culminates in a Friday screening at the Roxy Theater. Camp spots are filling up quickly, so SIGN UP for one (or more) of the Roxy Film Academy summer filmmaking camps today!
Digital Moviemaking at the Moon Randolph Homestead
Campers will try their hands at live-action filmmaking, learn how filmmakers use scout photos, locations, angles, light and sound to tell stories. They will write original scripts while working in front of – and behind – the camera to create their own film on location at the Moon-Randolph Homestead.
Movie Magic for Mini-Scientists
Campers will create and film cool science experiments. Volcanoes will explode, giant bubbles will pop and everything will be caught on tape.
Digital Moviemaking at Big Sky Breakout
Campers will learn how filmmakers use shot sizes, camera angles, and available spaces and props within an escape room to tell original stories. All their new skills will come together when they write and produce a film on location at Big Sky Breakout. *Only four spots left for this camp.
Focusing on social media, Instacamp works with campers to become empowered content creators by engaging the playful and mindful while promoting healthy body image and intentional practices online. Flash mobs, viral video challenges and next-level “video selfies” will all be part of the week’s activities.
